Looking terrific on your wedding day doesn’t have to be hard. All you need to be a blushing, beautiful bride is a few of my expert tips and tricks below. (If you’d rather leave your bridal wedding makeup to a professional, however, feel free to give me a call.)
1) SKIN
For glowing, dewy skin, use a liquid foundation and then use pressed powder on your T-zone to reduce oil and shine.
2) EYES
Layer matte nude eye-shadow tones on your lids and create the appearance of lush, full lashes with a very defined liner. One of my brand-new favorites is Hourglass’s Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Obsidian.
3) LIPS
To create the perfect daytime wedding look, begin by exfoliating your lips to help your color last longer. Select matte pinks and nudes for your ceremony and portrait pictures, and apply lip color with a small brush, extending the color to the edges of your lips for an extra-full look. Once twilight makes its presence known, switch from day to night in seconds with rich, darker tones in deep berry or plum shades.
EXPERT TIP: Although you might be more accustomed to using blotting paper and pressed powder on your T-zone (not your lips), these are two products that can work wonders when it comes to makeup multi-tasking. Dab your just-colored lips with blotting paper, and then apply a touch of pressed powder to lock the color in place all day. Reapply your lip color one final time with a brush to achieve amazingly resilient lip color that lasts through kissing and champagne toasts!
EXPERT TIP #2: Use shades of lipstick with blue undertones, such as cool pinks, soft fuchsia, and berry hues to make your teeth and smile appear whiter and brighter.
Just follow these tips and your look will transition from good to glam in no time!
