Coral!

Since 1963, Pantone has been assigning numbers to colors. This enabled everyone (printers, painters, and you) to match an absolute color. Prior to this, what you saw, was not always what you got. In the year 2000, Pantone started announcing the Pantone Color of the Year. This became an important tool for designers and marketing folks. For you, what this means is; this year, the fashion designers will be making beautiful products in coral and corresponding shades to compliment coral.

Coral is a fabulous color for almost everyone. It works with cool, neutral and warm skin tones. Winter is a wonderful time to freshen up your look with corals and pinks. Enhance these beautiful colors with greens, blues and grays.
Colors that work well with corals:
Eyes – Using a Coral or Peachy tone for the base color add – shades of grays, blues, white, pink, silver to enhance any eye color.
Liners – Black, blue (is fabulous), gray, and deep green. Stay away from browns and golds (this can make you look tired).
Blush – A bright coral blush can be used with a neutral bronzer, or shimmer highlighter, powder or cream. I love to add a dab of bright pink over the coral just at the apple of the cheeks.

Lips – This is a huge department. Coral, soft peach, red-coral, matte, shiny. Unlike the perfect red….the perfect coral is softer and easier to work with.
